Chicco NextFit 65

One of our first stops at the ABC Kids Expo was with the awesome people over at Chicco. If you have ever been in our store, you know we are a huge fan of the Keyfit infant car seat, as well as many other Chicco products. Chicco is expanding their car seat line, and are finally coming out with their first convertible car seat, the NextFit 65. The seat was even awarded the Parent’s Choice award for Innovation by JPMA.

Now the the nitty-gritty details of the NextFit 65.  The NextFit 65 accommodates a child from 5 – 40lbs rear facing, and 22 – 65 lbs in the forward facing position. It offers a one-handed headrest and harness strap adjustment, making it super easy to adjust as baby grows. The NextFit 65 offers a steel frame and EPS foam for side impact protection. Unlike most convertible car seats, the NextFit 65 offers two bubble level guides to ensure the seat is installed at the proper angle.

There are two big features to this seat though; 9 recline positions and SuperCinch LATCH.  First are the 9 recline position. There are 5 positions for rear facing, and 5 positions for forward facing. This enables you to find the perfect position for your child. Being a CPST (child passenger safety technician) the SuperCinch LATCH is the biggest highlight of the NextFit65 for me. This is by far one of the easiest convertible car seats I have ever installed thanks to the SuperCinch LATCH.  You no longer have to put all your weight on the seat, or pull with all your might in an awkward angle to get the LATCH tight enough.Simply pull down on the strap and you are DONE!

The NextFit 65 will not hit the market until next Spring, but you can guarantee it will be worth it once it comes out.
